Perempuan dan Naga: Tipologi Gereja dalam Pertarungan Kosmis di Wahyu 12:1–17

Abstract

Wahyu 12:1–17 cukup rumit dan penuh makna simbolik, yang menggambarkan pertarungan antara kekuatan Allah dan kekuatan kejahatan. Figur perempuan, anak laki-laki, dan naga sering diartikan sebagai representasi dari Israel, Maria, gereja, atau kejadian sejarah tertentu. Meskipun demikian, penelitian menginterpretasikan simbol perempuan sebagai bentuk gereja dalam konteks narasi dan struktur kitab masih belum begitu banyak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis simbol perempuan dalam Wahyu 12:1–17 sebagai representasi gereja universal yang terlibat secara aktif dalam penebusan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode hermeneutika teologis dengan pendekatan naratif-kanonikal, yaitu membaca teks Wahyu dalam konteks keseluruhan kitab suci. Analisis dilakukan dengan cara membaca kembali literatur, memahami alur cerita dan dinamika tokoh, serta membandingkan teks-teks penting seperti Kejadian 3:15, Yesaya 66, dan Galatia 4:26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan dalam Wahyu 12 mewakili umat pilihan Allah, mulai dari bangsa Israel, puncaknya dalam kelahiran Mesias, dan terus berlanjut dalam gereja. Gereja digambarkan sebagai umat yang mengalami penderitaan yang dilakukan oleh kekuatan jahat, namun tetap dijaga dan dilindungi oleh Allah. Kemenangan gereja tidak diraih melalui kekuatan politik atau militer, melainkan melalui kesetiaan, kesaksian, dan partisipasi dalam penderitaan Kristus. Kesimpulannya, simbol perempuan dalam Wahyu 12 memberikan kontribusi penting bagi pengembangan pemahaman tentang gereja dan spiritualitas saat ini, khususnya dalam konteks penderitaan, penganiayaan, dan harapan akhir zaman.
